Oh hello hello

So, so, so, it's been a while since the last post. Ehhe he. But nevermind! I suppose I've been busy lately, so I haven't had too many thoughts for the blog. In case you're interested to know what I've been up to, I'll tell you some of it.

Firstly and mostly, my life has been... work.

Something creative I made at work. Small children like it. "Be seen in the dark!" It sells reflectors (and dog collar lights).

A very essential part of my work.

We have all kinds of white jackets there, but you will never see me wearing any else than this design.

My locker door. It says "Excercise a little every day." It was there before me, didn't have a reason to remove it.

I think I've been doing it (the work) for some time, quite a lot. So it's good that mostly I really enjoy it. :)

The second stressful thing in my life now is the exhibition.

A poster of the exhibition. I and Henna Lappalainen made it. Yay!

It finally started! Like always, suddenly the opening day was there, and things got a bit stressy and chaotic. Of course finally everything turned out well, like usually things do and it was cool. I hope I'll be getting some pictures of the exhibition soon, because it really is a cool one and worth showing off!

Because of all this work and running aroud and stuff, I've been using public transportation like a maniac. I'm partially living in it. I had, for example, a good sleep today in a bus on the way home!

All the rest in my life is just an endless effort to relax and make things nice. :P I love to be home, and lately I've even found some energy to fix things here. Like, for example, washing/throwing away some shit from the kitchen, you know what I mean (and if not, be happy of it :'D) and finding some nice new things for home, like a new shower curtain (which, of course, got eaten by our sweet termite cats/cat, so we can't keep it) and a new blanket on sofa (we love blankets and the cats love too, and I forgot that they have claws and love to, umm, do this cat thing with their paws when they're happy, so the blanket isn't so sweet any more, but it's quite sweet anyway). So the life is quite okay, still. Haven't done too much shopping or dumpster diving, so can't be a materialistic hipster now, but I'm sure there's more time for that later. :)

Every time, and I really mean EVERY GODDAMN TIME I get up from my beloved place on the sofa, Musti magically happens to teleport on my place. I must have a really hot ass, trolololol

Oh and one more thing!

:)))))))

Wtf Voice!

Link to the original article here.

Very funny. Is. :'P (It's all about a monkey with herpes running free in the states, and people are scared of it. And this site put a picture of.. that, with the news. The site is not like onion or so, though not too serious either. Still, I didn't wait to see this.)

Edit later: it seems that they changed the picture in the article. I understand. :D

A short cut to mushrooms

I've transformed this blog into a journal of a Mushroom's (and his little mushroom's) life.

They've changed a lot since we met last time!

Meeting a dog

Some time ago, my sister's dog visited us. The cats were extremely suspicious.

Unfortunately the camera's battery died, so there's no more pictures of the cats' funny faces when they looked at the poor little dog. Looking at the dog in a very intensive way and moving very very slowly was hilarious, though dead serious business to the cats themselves.

Explain this to me

Okay. You know, there are all kinds of posters at bus stops. There are also the local public transportation organization's (HSL/HRT here in Helsinki) own posters. This is a picture of a poster like that. It is okay, with all the logos/pictures/whatever of all kinds of things like, well, bus numbers, a bike, a boat, etc. related to transportation, which you can see there. But there is also one picture which I just can't work out. It's the one with pink background. What the ...... is happening there???? Seriously?? :O I've shown this to few people and they don't know either. Any good suggestions?

Geez.
Oh ok sure we've had some ideas, but those just don't quite fit the general subject of the poster's other pictures. You know.

Finally some materialistic stuff

Ok, so finally here's a post of the things that actually made me want to have a blog at all. I feel like during last few years I've found such cool & nice things from flea markets, dumpsters and recycling centers, that I just have to present them in some blog or something.

At first, here's some stuff I actually bought a month or something ago. I've long wanted to somehow improv my dressing, but didn't know how to do it exactly. It's so difficult to make up something new, when you've already learned to look for certain kind of things and to like certain kind of colours and textures. Also, I've never been too interested in clothes, never really liked anything about fashion or read any fashion magazines or blogs. I also hate to run around in any clothing shops, because everything's just so... well, wrong. When I was studying, everything was also way too expensive. For example, food was important to me and I didn't want to spend my omnom-money to some random expensive shirt or pants once a year or something. It wasn't a very fun thing to do either for ethical reasons, which you may already heard of, concerning clothing industry.

After some time shopping at flea markets, I just couldn't return to normal clothing shops. Because clothes weren't the most important thing to me, it was a delightful surprise to realise, that you could find pretty much EVERYTHING you ever needed, from flea markets. Except food, of course. (Though, in Kuopio, there was one flea market where they gave away loads of "old" bread from markets, for free. Those breads were not so fresh, meaning that their best before -date was on next day or something, but were still at great condition to put in the deep-freezer and eat later whenever needed.) Flea markets etc. are like treasure boxes to me. A fun way to spend time, laugh at horrible things that people sell, and make some great findings.

So, almost every stuff in my life at the moment has been someone else's before. The stuff is still nice, and I feel like sharing my findings here would be fun for others too. The fun of my blog's name is, that I will have all this used stuff here, which is actually not very luxury. The stuff is not expensive nor has any labels on them (at least not anything big and expensive, eck), but I still love them and therefore want to share them with you.

So, let's finally get into the business!

First, the Shoes. I bought these from a recycling center something about a month ago. Costed 2€, are leather (I don't really want to use animal stuff, for I am a vegetarian / leaning for veganism, but used leather stuff are okay, for then I don't really support the leather industry by buying their stuff straight from them, only when it's already abandoned by someone else) and were practically unused. In the picture these are already a bit shabby, for I've been using these a lot for the whole month I've owned them.

"Why just 2 euros?", you may ask. Well, here's the reason: the left shoe was missing one button, so no one wanted to buy them or take too much money for them. Luckily, there is a "take for free"-section at the recycling center, where I found a piece of some cool coloured fabric. There is also a section for crafts, with a box of random metal scrap, where I picked.. umm, few small metallic slabs, screws and some other stuff. So using all that stuff plus super glue I made a missing button for the shoe. It came out quite cute, and I don't mind few colour spots in my appearance.

The actual shocking thing about these shoes is, that I've actually NEVER used any heels. Of course something about 5 times in my life in some special occasions, but never in informal use. I've never felt like any womanly high heels would anyhow fit for me, but these are actually very nice. I've worn these sometimes daily and walked hours in these, and never had my legs sore because of these. Of course the heels are very low, but a change is a change, and I'm happy that everything turned out good.

A black hoodie. From Akseli, 1€. Is a liiitle bit shabby, but oh so cool. I love stuff that are just a little bit different, so short leeves, hood, buttons in the front and a kangaroo pocket did the magic. Akseli has become one of my favourite flea markets, I always find something from there. Usually loads of. It's just located in a bit tricky place, so I won't go there very often.

Okay, these shouldn't actually be here, for I bought these from Seppälä, (something like 5€,) and these are unused, of course. But the thing is, that I consider - with the high heels - hanging earrings as WOMEN'S stuff too, which don't fit me, and this is the first time in something like 10 years I've bought and really worn those kind of things. Besides, I really like these, because I love animals etc blahblah. And yeah I know owls are quite mainstream right now, but.. who cares, these are nice. :)

This is also from Akseli. 3€. Love the colours, with other black stuff these pop out just well.

And finally (for now) the hat! Never had a hat like that either, so it was exciting to find this. From Akseli, for 5 euros. Quite expensive, but seemed unused, so it wasn't bad. I've tried on few hats like this before, but those always looked sooooo dumb and just didn't fit for me at all. But oh well, once again something was different and: hooray! I've noticed I've started to like turquoise colour... 8D The doll is from Stockmann's window-dressing department. I once thought I wanted a male model doll, so I somehow got it from there for 50€. These are quite expensive as new, something about couple hundred euros, so it was cool. The doll was actually white, but I painted it red/orange. The result was quite horrible, and after few years I painted it again, this time black. The result is great, in my opinion. I and my fiance put a septum "piercing" for him, which looks cool and quite kinky haha. He lives in our library room now. :) The curtains I got for free from my friend few years ago. Thanks, luv'em! n.n

Me wearing happily these things. Look how serene I am with and because of all these nice things! (The grey shirt is from Fida, can't remember the price.)
And couple full body shots too, with the shoes and everything. Pants are from Venla (flea market) for 3 euros, and the black bag is from Valtteri's weekend flea market for 1€. Both were quite new and have been very useful for me. :)

So, this was it! For now. Now off to eat something, yay! See you later. :)

Mini's 9 hour nap last weekend

It always feels horrible to go to work in the morning, leaving the cats all alone at home. There they are, every day, all day long. On saturday last weekend Mini went to sleep, and he just slept and slept. In the evening, when it already was dark, he woke up, and we realised he had been sleeping for something like 9 hours.

Of course, when others went to bed, HE didn't want to sleep any more, and terrorised us (by screaming, running around and scratcing all our wooden furnitures) all night because he was lonely and life was boring. But yeah, sleeping all day is possibly what cats do, so I don't feel so bad any more about leaving for work at daytimes. I suppose he does this all-day-sleeping at other times too, because every now and then we just can't have a peaceful night sleep.

What a vermin.

<3

Yeah sure, he sometimes lifted his head up and checked out what others were doing. Obviously nothing too interesting, because continuing the sleep was what he did.

At the studio again, with better results

Animal pendants that actually have nothing to do with this post, but I like how they look, and, well, I've made them. So I guess there's enough reason to put them here. :P

Soooo I went to the studio again yesterday, and... well, I suppose I've learned something about ceramics. Last time everything just failed, so this time I did some wisely chosen things a bit better, and all went very well! Because of all the happiness and success I salute you with some pictures. Here you go!

It was very relaxing to finally get everything work well. <3

The actual things I was making there. These darlings are one-flower vases and going in an exhibition later this year. Still raw and unfinished, but I think all the seams are actually quite cool. Nonetheless I will cut them off later so they won't be in the final objects. And umm yeah I've casted these of my *very own* hand haha. Oh and I'll put better pics of the finished ones later.

Doorsteps have some funny moss growing on them.

This is the hillbilly who makes all this stuff. The dirty afterwork -look with overgrown fringe is always the best. Also: notice the charming environment and architecture in the area where my studio is located at.
